Robert (Bob) Dzik has worked with financial institutions and individuals since 1980. He began his career with Westcap Securities and worked for Royal Bank of Canada before becoming an independent representative at Shearson Financial Services.

Bob and his son, Justin, formed Dzik Investments, to better serve clients. Bob focuses exclusively on Fixed Income securities including municipal, mortgage back, and corporate securities. He has many long-established contacts within the investment community.

He lives in Houston, Texas, and is originally from Donora, Pennsylvania. Bob is married to Lois Dzik and they have two children. Bob holds a Series 7 and a Series 63 license.

Justin Dzik is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in entrepreneurship management. He started his career with Royal Bank of Canada, and then joined his father as an independent representative.

Justin’s expertise is fixed-income securities. He trades and filters product with the financial street for Dzik Investments through Shearson Financial Services, LLC. He also helps community banks, money managers, and high-net-worth individuals with their fixed-income portfolios. Born in Houston, Justin often visits family and clients in Pennsylvania.

He lives in Houston, Texas, and is married to Marisa Ponti. Justin holds a Series 7 and a Series 63 license.

Our History

Dzik Investments’ history is entwined with the success and growth of Pennsylvania Community bankers. At its core, it is a father/son team humbled by and grateful for the opportunity to work with those Pennsylvania community bankers through the years. Dzik Investments would like to thank all the great people who helped them along the way and gave them valuable time and knowledge. They can’t wait to see and participate in the next chapter of the Pennsylvania Community bankers stories!

Pennsylvania Roots Extend to Texas

Robert (Bob) Dzik grew up in Donora, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of Stan ”The Man“ Musial and Ken Griffey Jr.! But, unlike those two, Bob couldn’t hit a curve ball, so instead, he attended Point Park College before transferring to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) to follow his high school sweetheart. After college, Bob was recruited by Tenneco Oil in Houston, Texas.

After a short stay at Tenneco, Bob again followed his high school (now college) sweetheart to Westcap Securities, where she had ascended to become a mortgage-backed trader. When asked what ”territory“ Bob would like to call, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to call his beloved Pennsylvania home. Shortly after, Bob added his favorite adopted home of Texas to his territory.

Experience and Independence

And, 40 years later, with experience working with more than 40 institutional clients, Bob feels honored and blessed to have such deep relationships with Pennsylvania bankers and Texas institutional investors. He considers each person truly a part of an extended family.

Bob eventually married that girl he kept following, and together they raised two children, Nicole and Justin (one who eventually became the catalyst to Dzik Investments). After Westcap, Bob worked for a brokerage firm where he had access to do his own trading. It’s very unusual for a firm to allow a broker to talk with the “street.” Bob’s access gave him the knowledge to do what he always wanted, which was to go independent and open Dzik Investments. But he needed help, and that’s what his son, Justin provided.

A Successful Father & Son Team

Justin had graduated from TCU in 2009 and, after a brief stint with Royal Bank of Canada, joined Bob in opening Dzik Investments.

Thirteen years later, Justin had taken over the vast majority of the trading operation. Justin’s extensive contacts from his years of trading experience has taught him which firms have the highest expertise in investment products Pennsylvania bankers need. Justin’s love of sports (an avid golfer who played baseball and basketball through high school) led to his natural competitiveness and tenacity our clients rely on. Still, according to those same clients, his most important value is his ability to listen to their concerns and his high ethical standards. Above all else, Justin searches for the best fit for each client’s unique needs.
